Working for Focus Mk2 and deactivating both. I'd really prefer to leave warning light and only turn off chimes, but it seems it always goes together, stupid solution for us who take a lot of short and slow rides. Information display has settings for different chimes, but not for this one.

You could go into disgnostic mode to test the display of your car! - Push and hold the trip reset button next to your gauges and turn on the ignition. Keep it pushed for about 10 seconds and it should say "TEST" on your info display! Now if you release the trip reset button and press it it should browse tests and readouts.
It starts shutting down non essential items. I replaced my battery at 4 years because of that message. About 12 months after that battery was replaced, I started to get the System off to save battery, turn off ignition or start engine message. It is very intermittent. The Ford dealer is not sure what is causing the problem.
